Which should you choose?

Choose Arka Inventory if

  • Your reps build quotes in Salesforce and need stock by location, at product level, while they quote
  • You promise delivery dates against stock on order, expected lead times and raw material availability
  • You need to commit, allocate and reallocate stock by delivery date so you never sell more than you have available
  • Sales reps must be told when back-ordered stock arrives or a delay is expected
  • You want stock and sales records on one platform with nothing to bridge

Choose Busy if

  • Your branches record locally and consolidate later, as in Busy Enterprise offline mode with automatic data merging
  • You need a free tool for core accounting, invoicing and inventory, as in Busy's Express edition
  • You need e-invoices and e-way bills generated by your accounting system

Introduction

Busy 21 Basic and above list inventory across multiple godowns, an Indian term for a warehouse or storeroom (Busy pricing, as of 31 October 2026).

What matters more is who is asking. An accountant reading a godown report at month end is well served by Busy. A sales rep in Salesforce, deciding whether to promise a delivery date, needs a different answer. How much stock is free after existing orders, and what arrives before that date?

What separates the two is integration. Busy has no default third-party integration. Its API (application programming interface, the way one program talks to another) option needs a third-party application and an authorised channel partner, and e-commerce integration is chargeable through the dealer (Busy integration FAQ). That gap, not the accounting, is where an inventory layer earns its place.

Below are a recommendation, a side-by-side table, five tests you can run on your own quotes, and current prices. We publish this page, and Arka Inventory is one of the two products compared.

Key takeaways

  • Arka Inventory, built natively on Salesforce, adds the stock, commitment and promise-date view your sales team needs, while Busy remains your accounting system. Run the five tests below: if reps quote in Salesforce (test 1) and you pass at least two of the other four, add it.
  • Busy 21 Basic (₹11,000) and above list inventory across multiple godowns. Our Basic plan includes multiple warehouses.
  • Arka Inventory is built natively on Salesforce, so reps see stock where they quote.
  • Our 15-day free trial gives full access to all features, with no credit card.

Should a Busy accounting software user add a Salesforce inventory layer?

Busy is accounting and GST (goods and services tax) billing software for small and medium businesses. Arka Inventory is cloud software for inventory, warehouse, purchase and cost management, built natively on Salesforce. The two do different jobs. The question is whether your sales team needs the second one.

Why choose Arka Inventory alongside Busy?

Choose Arka Inventory when the people who promise stock to customers work in Salesforce. Each reason below is something we deliver today.

  1. Reps see stock where they quote. We show inventory by location, at product level, while a rep creates an opportunity, quote or order. Nobody leaves Salesforce to ask the stores team.
  2. Reps promise dates they can keep. Our available-to-promise view combines inventory on hand across locations, inventory on order, expected lead times and raw material availability. Available-to-promise means what you can confidently commit, not what sits on the shelf.
  3. Stock is committed, not just counted. Our Commit Inventory feature lets teams commit, allocate and reallocate stock by delivery date, so you never sell more than you have available. Sales Orders are on our Enterprise plan.
  4. The alert reaches the person who needs it. Sales reps are notified when back-ordered stock arrives or a delay is expected. Our low-stock alert approach works the same way: set it on stock you can sell, not stock on the shelf.
  5. One platform, nothing to bridge. We are native on Salesforce, so stock and sales records share one platform.

Who benefits most from Arka Inventory?

Salesforce-based sales teams, manufacturers and wholesale distributors benefit most. We position Arka Inventory for small and mid-market businesses, especially those that deal in physical goods.

  • Salesforce-based sales teams see stock per product while creating opportunities, quotes or orders.
  • Manufacturers get bills of material (the list of parts that make a product), production and kitting on our Advance plan, and lot and serial tracking on our Enterprise plan.
  • Distributors get stock across locations, purchase orders and transfers from our Basic plan, plus the available-to-promise view.

Busy remains your accounting system for books and GST returns, e-invoices (electronic invoices under GST) and e-way bills (electronic documents for moving goods). Its Smart plan (₹8,000 for 360 days) creates e-way bills and e-invoices up to 10,000. If you run Tally rather than Busy, our Tally inventory management health check covers that case.

Which five tests show that Busy stock reports are no longer enough?

Five tests settle it: Salesforce use, stock split across warehouses, free stock against on-hand stock, promises on incoming stock, and back-order delay. If reps quote in Salesforce (test 1) and you pass at least two of the other four, add Arka Inventory. This is our recommendation, not a published standard.

Do your reps work in Salesforce every day?

Count how many of your last 20 customer quotes were built in Salesforce. Half or more is a pass. Fewer than half is a fail.

Does any item sit in two or more warehouses that reps sell from?

List your items held in more than one warehouse. None: a Busy godown report is enough. Any best-seller split across sites is a pass.

Do reps quote on-hand stock or free stock?

Take your five fastest items. For each, subtract the quantity on open sales orders from stock on hand to get free stock. If the result differs from the figure reps quote on any item, commitments are going untracked. That is what Commit Inventory handles.

Do you promise dates against stock still to arrive?

Count last month's orders promised for a date after an open purchase order's expected delivery. Any such order is a pass, because reps then need on-order quantities and lead times.

How long does a back-order arrival take to reach the rep?

Take your last five back-orders. Note the time from goods receipt to the rep being told. More than one working day on any of them is a pass.

What do Busy and Arka Inventory cost?

Prices below are as listed on each product's own page on 31 October 2026.

Busy 21 prices exclude GST, and cloud access (Busy Online) is ₹10,800 for 360 days. Enterprise with Busy Online comes to ₹32,800 in the first 360 days before GST (our sum: ₹22,000 + ₹10,800).

Our plans are priced in US dollars per month, paid yearly:

  • Basic: $199, one user included, extra users $42 each. It covers multiple warehouses, purchase orders and transfers, barcoding and packing slips, and alerts.
  • Advance: $499, two users included, extra users $52 each. It adds bills of material, production and kitting.
  • Enterprise: quoted to you. It adds Sales Orders, lot and serial tracking, landed cost and bin tracking.

Basic gives multi-warehouse visibility, purchase orders and transfers, barcoding and alerts. Sales Orders need Enterprise. To match a plan to your quote-to-order flow or to get an Enterprise quote, contact our sales team.

For five users, our own sums give $367 a month on Basic ($199 + 4 × $42) and $655 on Advance ($499 + 3 × $52).

Your reps' Salesforce seats are priced by Salesforce. Salesforce lists Starter Suite at $25 and Pro Suite at $100 per user per month (Starter billed monthly or annually, Pro annually). Salesforce India bills in US dollars, and GST is extra (Salesforce India pricing). For a wider view of what stock software costs, see inventory management software cost in India.

How do Busy branches and integrations differ from a Salesforce-native layer?

Busy branch management sits in its Enterprise edition and works through data merging, while our stock view lives in Salesforce. Busy Enterprise offers multi-branch management, offline and online modes, and automatic data merging between head office and branch offices in offline mode (Busy Enterprise). That serves a business whose branches record locally and consolidate later.

A sales team that needs one live stock figure inside its CRM (customer relationship management) system has a different problem. We built for that, with location-based visibility inside Salesforce. Busy's own features page describes stock tracking across warehouses, godowns and branches, with transfers and consolidated or warehouse-wise reports (Busy features). For the wider options for running stock in Salesforce, see Salesforce inventory management: four routes and their costs.

Our verdict
