Katana Alternatives India for Warehouse, Traceability and Commitments
This guide to katana alternatives india ranks products by the operational requirements that matter after a replacement decision: warehouse movements, traceability, material availability and sales-order commitments. The order reflects fit with those workflows, not a lowest-price contest.

The short answer
The best Katana alternative depends on the workflow that still breaks after a sales order, warehouse transfer or production run. Our own product wins for Salesforce teams that need warehouse execution and inventory commitments, while MRPeasy wins for lower-entry production planning and Fishbowl wins for deeper manufacturing configuration.
The shortlist
How we ranked them
- Warehouse execution across locations, bins and transfers
- Lot, serial and expiry traceability
- Material availability and production control
- Sales-order commitments and reserved inventory
- A current public price with its billing unit
The companies in detail
Arka Inventory
Our Salesforce-native inventory, warehouse, purchase and cost-management app.
- Basic plan
- $199/month paid yearly, including 1 user
- Additional Basic users
- $42/month
- Warehouse workflow
- Barcode receiving, palletising, bin putaway, pick tickets and packing slips
- Commitment workflow
- Reservations, backorders and expected supplier inventory
Our own product wins for manufacturers already using Salesforce that need warehouse execution, multi-location visibility and reliable inventory commitments in the same environment.
Strengths
- We support barcode receiving, palletising, bin putaway, pick tickets and packing slips.
- We show stock across locations, inventory on order, lead times and raw-material availability.
- We can reserve inventory against orders and show expected supplier inventory in Salesforce.
Limitations
- Salesforce is required.
- Sales orders, lot and serial tracking, landed cost and bin tracking are Enterprise capabilities, so the $199 Basic plan is not the full manufacturing configuration.
MRPeasy
Production planning, BOMs, lot traceability and warehouse management in a per-user model.
- Starting plan
- Starter, $49/user/month, billed monthly
- Production scope
- Production planning, BOM management and shop-floor reporting
- Traceability gate
- Serial numbers and expiry dates start at Professional
- Pricing source
- MRPeasy pricing page, September 2026
MRPeasy wins for a manufacturer whose primary replacement trigger is production planning, routing and shop-floor control rather than a Salesforce-centred warehouse process.
Strengths
- Its Starter plan includes production planning, BOM management, lot traceability and warehouse management.
- Its Professional plan adds serial numbers, quality control, expiry dates and subcontracting.
- Its Enterprise plan adds barcode scanning, multiple stocks and multiple production sites.
Limitations
- The cost rises with named users.
- Barcode scanning and multiple production sites require the Enterprise plan.
Fishbowl Advanced
A higher-entry manufacturing and warehouse platform with MRP, work orders and lot traceability.
- Published starting price
- $675 USD/month
- Manufacturing scope
- BOMs, MRP, work orders and made-to-order builds
- Warehouse and traceability
- Lot and batch traceability plus mobile barcode scanning
- Pricing source
- Fishbowl product page, September 2026
Fishbowl wins for an established manufacturer that needs MRP, work orders, lot traceability and mobile barcode scanning, and can accept quote-dependent final pricing.
Strengths
- Its Advanced Manufacturing offer includes BOMs, MRP, work orders and made-to-order builds.
- It includes lot and batch traceability plus mobile barcode scanning.
- It supports teams from 2 users to 200 or more.
Limitations
- Its published starting price is materially higher than MRPeasy’s entry plan.
- Final pricing depends on users and deployment.
How to choose
- 1
Recreate one warehouse movement
Receive stock, put it away to a bin, transfer it, pick it and partially ship it. The system should retain the location and quantity at every handoff.
- 2
Trace one batch or serial number
Choose a received lot and ask the vendor to show its quantity, expiry information, storage location, finished-goods use and customer delivery record.
- 3
Test two competing sales orders
Create two orders for the same stock and check whether the system shows available, reserved, backordered and expected supplier inventory before a promise is made.
- 4
Run a BOM shortage check
Use an open sales order to show the materials required, stock available, expected inbound supply and the next purchase or production action.
Choose the category that fixes the failed handoff
A feature checkbox is not proof that a replacement will solve the day-to-day failure. Use the trigger below to choose the category to evaluate, then make the vendor demonstrate the exact handoff.
- Replacement trigger
- Quantity is visible, but warehouse movement is unclear
- Capability to require
- Barcode receiving, bin putaway, pick tickets and packing slips
- Question for the implementation team
- Can the team receive, transfer, pick and partially ship one order without losing the bin record?
- Alternative category
- WMS-oriented inventory system or manufacturing ERP with warehouse execution
- Replacement trigger
- A recall, warranty or expiry check needs spreadsheet work
- Capability to require
- Batch or serial ID, expiry, quantity, location and order history
- Question for the implementation team
- Can one received batch be traced through production and delivery?
- Alternative category
- Traceability-capable inventory system or regulated-industry ERP
- Replacement trigger
- Production finds shortages after a customer promise
- Capability to require
- BOMs, material availability, consumption and inventory on order
- Question for the implementation team
- Can an open sales order show the materials that are short and the next supply action?
- Alternative category
- Manufacturing MRP or manufacturing ERP
- Replacement trigger
- Sales teams promise stock needed elsewhere
- Capability to require
- Location-level availability, reservations, backorders and supplier-expected inventory
- Question for the implementation team
- Can two competing sales orders show what is actually available to promise?
- Alternative category
- Sales-and-inventory system or Salesforce-native inventory ERP
Warehouse execution matters when the stock record is not the physical record
A warehouse replacement should prove receiving, putaway, transfers, picking and partial shipments. A system that only reports total stock can still leave operators deciding which bin to pick from or where a transferred pallet went. Use our guide to manage warehouse inventory without stock surprises to set the test cases before vendor demos.
Katana’s pricing page, September 2026, states that its Core plan starts at $299/month and its Warehouse Management add-on costs $149/month. That makes warehouse execution a configuration question, not evidence that Katana cannot support it.
Traceability is credible only when the record survives each movement
For food manufacturers, FSSAI’s 2019 fruit and vegetable FSMS guidance says that traceability records should cover incoming materials, packaging materials and finished products. Treat that as a demonstration requirement for the applicable workflow, not as a generic software certification claim.
For a product subject to medical-device requirements, India’s Medical Devices Rules, 2017 tie unique device identification to a date specified by Central Government order. Map the applicable product rule separately with compliance counsel. Use this product traceability requirements checklist to define the fields and reports the system must produce.
A sales commitment needs availability, reservations and inbound supply in one view
A sales order is reliable only when the user can distinguish stock on hand from stock available to promise. The demonstration should show location-level availability, a reservation against the first confirmed order, the effect on a second order, and expected supplier stock for the remainder.
Define the operating rule before migrating data. This guide to inventory reservation rules for confirmed sales orders helps separate stock that is merely visible from stock that is actually committed.
Migrate the operational record, not just the item list
Move item masters, locations and bins, opening stock, open purchase orders, open sales orders, BOMs, customers, suppliers, and any required lot or serial history. Reconcile a sample of each workflow before the new system becomes the record used by sales, purchasing, production and warehouse teams.
A vendor should import data only after the required fields have been agreed. Use an inventory software workflow demo checklist to turn those requirements into acceptance tests.
How we built this list
Prices are as of September 2026. Compare the full workflow configuration, not only entry prices: the three products use different billing models, and the operational capabilities needed for a warehouse, traceability or production workflow can sit on different plans.

Frequently asked
The best Katana alternative is the product that proves your hardest daily workflow in a live demo. We recommend Arka Inventory for Salesforce teams needing warehouse execution and commitments, MRPeasy for production-planning depth at a lower entry price, and Fishbowl for broader manufacturing and traceability requirements.
Katana offers warehouse management and traceability as add-ons. Katana’s September 2026 pricing page shows warehouse management at $149 per month and traceability at $249 per month, so compare the configuration you need rather than a base-plan price alone.
Ask the vendor to trace one received batch through storage, production and delivery, including its expiry date, quantity and destination order. FSSAI’s 2019 fruit and vegetable guidance calls for traceability records covering incoming materials, packaging materials and finished products.
Start with item masters, locations and bins, stock on hand, open purchase orders, open sales orders, BOMs, lots or serial numbers, and customer and supplier records. Reconcile a sample of live stock and committed orders before making the new system the operational record.
