Should you replace Odoo's inventory with Arka Inventory?
Run five checks. Each has a pass and a fail, and the thresholds are our recommendation, not an industry rule.
- Where do quotes start? Pass: your reps create quotes and orders in Salesforce. Fail: sales runs outside Salesforce, so Arka Inventory, which is built on Salesforce, is not yet the fit.
- How often do reps need a lookup? Take your last 10 Salesforce quotes and count how many needed a message to the warehouse or a login to Odoo before a date could be promised. Pass: three or more. Fail: fewer than three, so the lookup gap is small today.
- Where will your books and GST documents live? Pass: your accounting runs in, or can move to, QuickBooks Online or Tally, which we integrate with. Fail: your books and any GST e-invoices or e-way bills must stay in Odoo; we publish no integration between Arka Inventory and Odoo, so settle that connection first.
- Which plan do you need? Do you need lot or serial tracking, landed cost (the full cost of getting goods to your warehouse) or sales orders? Pass: you need none of these, or you accept Enterprise pricing, since all three sit on our Enterprise plan. Fail: you need them on a budget below Enterprise. Bills of materials, production and kitting begin on our Advance plan.
- How much have you customised? List every customised inventory workflow. Odoo Online and Odoo.sh must upgrade major versions every two years, and every custom workflow is something to retest each time. Pass: five or more customised workflows, a reason to move inventory. Fail: fewer than five, so the case for moving rests on checks 1 and 2.
Verdict: pass checks 1 and 2, and replace Odoo's inventory with Arka Inventory. Checks 3 to 5 tell you what to settle first: where your books and GST documents will live, which plan you need, and how many customised workflows you are retiring.
How do the two compare on cost and plans?
Odoo charges per user across all apps; we charge per plan with users included. As of October 2026, our Basic plan is $199 a month billed yearly with one user licence and extra users at $42 a month each. Advance is $499 a month billed yearly with two licences and extra users at $52 a month each. Enterprise is custom-priced. Lot and serial tracking, landed cost and sales orders need the custom-priced Enterprise plan.
For five users that is $367 a month on Basic (199 + 4 × 42) and $655 on Advance (499 + 3 × 52), billed yearly; this is our own arithmetic from the published rates. These figures exclude implementation and tax. Arka Inventory runs on Salesforce, so your Salesforce licences are separate from the plan price. See our pricing page for the current plans.
As of October 2026, Odoo's India pricing page lists Standard at $31.10 per user per month (regular $38.90) and Custom at $61.00 (regular $76.20). Five users on Standard come to $155.50 a month (5 × $31.10, our arithmetic). Custom adds Odoo Studio, external API access and multi-company support.
How does customisation and upgrading differ?
Both are customisable. Our dashboards, pages and features are highly customisable inside Salesforce, and Odoo's flexibility is real too.
Odoo's own documentation says each major version has three years of standard support, and Odoo Online and Odoo.sh must upgrade every two years. Heavily customised set-ups therefore carry a recurring retest. Odoo's external API sits on its Custom plan; our data export and APIs are available to every customer.
Data and security
We run on the Salesforce platform, so your data benefits from Salesforce's encryption at rest and in transit, identity and access controls, least-privilege access, monitoring and auditing. Salesforce publishes independent System and Organization Controls (SOC) reports for its services on its Hyperforce infrastructure through its Security and Compliance portal. After cancellation, you get time to retrieve your data before it is deleted under our retention procedures.
How can you test Arka Inventory against your Odoo set-up?
Use the 15-day trial, which has full access to all features and no credit card; access ends automatically when it does. Run one realistic scenario:
- Load three products across two warehouses.
- Create a Salesforce order for one of them and commit stock with Commit Inventory. Pass: the committed quantity shows against the right warehouse.
- Change the delivery date and reallocate. Pass: the commitment moves and the available figure updates.
- Receive a purchase order with a barcode scan. Pass: on-hand stock rises in the bin you chose.
Our verdict
For a team whose reps quote and sell in Salesforce, Arka Inventory is the stronger choice because stock, commitments and lead times are visible across the sales cycle without leaving Salesforce.
How we compared
We compared Arka Inventory and Odoo on scope, platform, stock commitment, warehouse work, accounting links, cost and upgrades, as of October 2026. We checked our own product and pricing pages, Odoo's pricing, editions, inventory features and documentation pages, and the Salesforce AppExchange listing. Figures for five users are our own arithmetic from published rates; implementation and tax were not compared.
